From the editors
Our standards
Brand Journal reports on brands, markets and the stories that sell them. It also presents products and services made by its own companies. These are the rules that keep the two clear to every reader.
Our own products are labelled first
Every article, card and video about a product or service made by the companies behind Brand Journal carries the words Our own product or Our own service at the top, and the same words are spoken and shown in the first two seconds of every video.
Paid features say who paid
When another company pays for a feature, it will say Paid feature or Paid retelling for the company's name, at the top, and use each platform's paid-partnership tool. Links that someone paid for carry a "sponsored" tag.
Every figure has a source and a date
Figures name the organisation that published them and the date they were published. Forecasts are marked as forecasts, and a company's figures about its own customers are described as exactly that.
Retold keeps the facts fixed
Each Retold episode tells one product for a new audience. The story, voice, music and movement change. The product's facts and price come from one fact card, checked before every episode, and every episode ends on that card.
Characters made with artificial intelligence are labelled
Some characters and narrators are made with artificial intelligence. They are labelled on every platform, and they never present facts as experts or speak as customers.
No testing or approval claims
Brand Journal does not claim to test, rate or approve products. We do not use false countdowns or "was" prices that were never charged.
Corrections
Mistakes are corrected openly, with the date of the correction, on the article and on our corrections page. To report one, write to the desk at lindsay@invictuscomm.com.
